Q: How long does it take?
Everyone wants you to see
results right away. Most people will see progress within the first 45 days of
their membership. Obviously, everyone's credit situation is different. Most of
our time is spent waiting for the credit bureaus to respond to our requests
and we pride ourselves on getting those disputes to the bureaus as fast as
possible. Our warranty becomes effective after one year, although many cases
are completed in a much shorter time frame. As a reference the average person
with 7-10 inaccurate, misleading or obsolete items on each credit report
should be prepared for at 6 month commitment.
Q: Can it be
guaranteed?
By law no one can guarantee that
they can have items removed from your credit reports. However, we do not want
you to pay for our service if you do not see results. Therefore, we offer a
warranty on our services. You will receive a portion of your money back if you
do not see the appropriate progress with your case. Please see our Terms of
Use or the section entitled Warranty on this website.
Q: Is this
legal?
You are given
certain rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including the right to
challenge inaccurate, obsolete and misleading items appearing on your credit
reports. We offer our expertise and services to help you assert these rights.
Q: Does it
matter which state I live in?
No. The credit bureaus are
regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act which is a federal law. We have
clients nationwide. Your rights are the same whether you are in Alaska or
Alabama.
Q: Will this
raise my credit score?
That is why we are helping you.
Removing inaccurate, misleading or obsolete items from your credit reports may
have a very positive impact on your credit score and your ability to get
credit. No guarantee can be given by law, but clients who stay with our
program and adhere to it may see their ability to receive credit enhanced.
Q: Is there anything that can not be removed from a
credit report?
No, we may
challenge any items that you feel should be challenged and the credit bureau
must verify these items. The only exception to this is that they do not have
to verify inquiries, but if you feel that an inquiry should not be on your
reports then the company that supposedly asked for your credit report can be
contacted and that fact may be disputed with them.
Q: How many items do you dispute at one time?
Experience has shown us that
disputing too many items at one time can actually slow down the process
because the credit bureau may deem your dispute frivolous. Therefore, we only
dispute the number of items in each letter that we deem appropriate for your
case (usually from 1 to 7 per credit report per letter depending on the total
number of items you wish us to dispute). We want to see results and will
challenge as many items as possible without jeopardizing a slowdown of the
process.
Q: How do
you restore bad credit?
We help you by using your rights
under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The credit bureaus have 30 days to
investigate items on your credit reports that are challenged. If they cannot
verify the information they are reporting within this time period then they
must modify or delete the information. We also correspond with creditors who
also must verify information they are reporting about you or refrain from
reporting negative information. Through continuous dialogue with both the
credit bureaus and your creditors we can help you restore your credit.
Q: Will
deleted items reappear?
This
is known as the "soft delete". Revisions to the law have made it
much more difficult for the credit bureaus to put something on
your report after it has already been removed. Does it happen
occasionally? Yes. The credit bureaus often make mistakes. We will
re-challenge this item with the weight of the previous deletion in
our favor.
Q: Should I still be paying my bills?
We would never advise not paying
your bills, but that issue is between you and your creditors. We work on what
appears on your credit reports and leave the issue of your current payments up
to you.
Q: If I keep paying my bills will that raise my credit
score?
Paying your bills on time should
do nothing but help your credit score. Many of our clients are trying to buy a
home, refinance a home or qualify for new credit. Good payment histories will
help you do all of those things. We often tell people that while we work on
the past you should be working on the future.
Q: Can I
restore my own credit?
Yes, you can. You
can also represent yourself in a court of law, fix your own
transmission and do your own yard work. We are a service company.
Just as you are probably better at what you do than we would be,
we are probably better at credit repair than you would be. You can
also represent yourself in a court of law. We offer experienced,
professional help at very affordable rates for your convenience
and benefit.
